With a love of both motorcycles and photography, I have been
photographing motorcycle events for my own personal enjoyment for many years.
In the spring of 2010, the opportunity came up to take over the photographing
of the Rampart Range Poker Run events on a professional level. It seemed like
a great opportunity to take my hobby to the next level. There wasn't much advance
notice, so it was a scramble to put everything together for the first event.
When I started this business, I wanted to keep overhead to a minimum and make it
as simple as possible for riders to find and order their prints. This meant I
needed a website. While there are plenty of commercial photo hosting sites out
there, none of them seemed to be tailored to motorcycle events with easy indexing
of rider information. Not to mention they all charge substantial fees for even
the simplest functionality.
Since my day job is in software development, I decided to "do it all" and create
the site myself. While this is a great idea for the long term, it means a lot of
extra work up front. I hope you'll be pleased with the results.
